A dying women's last request
In the mid 1990's when Kiliwea added 3/4 mile of land and pushed out the coast line covering homes in it's path. A women dying of cancer requesr was to have friends and family bring coconuts down to the newly formed land so that the land could be beautified for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The 20 years of growth shown in this picture may mean that it will be a few more generations before the beauty is restored.
