Trafalgar Square

 

 

 

 



Orginally a tribute to Lord Nelson and victory at Waterloo. The base of Nelson's monument is surrounded by four lions all made of melted down french weapons captured at Waterloo. A patriotic Frenchmen attempted to paint "Napoleon Forever" on the monument but wa stopped before he could finish, disbonded by his failure he then tried unsuccessfully to drown himself in the 6 inchs of water in the fountain on the square.

Westminister Abby

 

 

 

 



St Peter's Catherdral (Where Charles and Di were married) is the East Minster and sits on the East side of London. Edward the Confessor build, or at least started, Westminsiter or St Paul's Cathedral. They ran out of money and so a few hundred years later, the first Bishop of London used money raised from the sale of land from St. Peter's holdings to pay for the completion of St Pauls Hence the saying "robbing Peter to pay Paul" just in case you were wondering!
