We camped at Cape Lumiere near Rexton. A lighthouse was across the street on the Northumberland Strait. 500 yards away is a harbour where fisherman will deliver lobster to the trailor. Beside that is a 5 mile sandy beach with no cottages on it- plus dogs are allowed. They have 3 cottages to rent also. Sounds perfect!

Hello!
I thought I would write a message and post some pictures in here since I've been telling Aunt Cathy and mom and I would! My summer is going really well, my summer job is great, and living on my own isn't that bad. My course on the other hand is going to be time consumming, but I hope that it will work out in the end (I should be studying right now, procrastination never really helps...) Anyways, I miss you all lots!!!! I can't wait to see everyone this summer. Here are some pics from my camera of the fam! Looks like you all had a nice vacation in Hawaii you all looked amazing!
Love you!!!
Jenn

Mom May 22, 2006
Mom looks great. She is in good spirits and has a very healthy appetite. She is not shy to tell you (me) what she is thinking. I found out last night that the toffee that I have been buying for her the past several years is the "cheap" stuff and it is like comparing a "pot roast to prime rib ". I guess life at Mellish manor is pretty good if the selection of candy is a sore point.

A fun and fattening Mother's Day
Mom and I had a wonderful Mother's Day. We started the day with breakfast by Bob, followed by relaxation with the Sunday paper. Next, hairdresser extraordinaire (Janice), washed and set mom's hair (but no attempt to cut it, Cathy!). Mom wore a bright pink crew neck, long sleeved sweater and navy pants for the occasion and with a little make up and gold jewellery(including her diamond band), looked absolutely radiant!
Janice made biscuits, lemon tea cakes and pecan butter tarts for the afternoon tea party. Next came setting the table for tea, with a white cotton cut- lace table cloth with an inlay of mauve and sea green. The centre piece was a lovely teapot of white china with gold trim and delicate pink china roses on the lid and side of the tea pot. The tea pot was filled with a variety of light, medium and dark tea roses....a wonderful mother's day gift from Cathy, Larry and Ian, and a much talked about centre piece!. Small clear glass tea plates were arrnaged at each place, accompanied by sunshine yellow napkins, china tea cups (from Bob's mom, so she was with us in spirit too!). The biscuits were placed on a yellow linen napkin in a small wicker basket, along with strawberry jam in a small crystal dish, a plate of cheddar cheese, butter, and plates of lemon tea cakes and pecan butter tarts, a china tea pot, cream and sugar dishes, completed the table.
Mom, surrounded by the Mellish clan, was then presented with a large, sea green wicker basket, which was filled with candy( three types of toffee, chocolates, cookies, popcorn, licorice alsorts, gum, dog biscuits (from Shadow), sour soothers, Pringles, a Celtic pewter letter opener, a hard covered murder mystery, 3 pairs of warm, cozy socks, People magazine, a bouquet of flowers and a small mama bear (with a dress and hair ribbon), cuddling a baby bear. The basket was wrapped in clear cello with a pretty pink, yellow, green and purple pattern and topped with ribbons to match. The basket was from David & Mame, Pat & Cy and Janice & Bob. Mom had a great time opening it and commenting on the various goodies. The opening of the basket was followed by phone calls from all the children, and mom enjoyed this greatly. Uncle Tommy also called to wish mom and I a happy mother's day. Next came the tea party and first to arrive were Carol and Hayward, who brought a a beautiful spring bouquet of flowers for mom and we all enjoyed great conversation and fattening goodies. Who next to arrive but Colleen, who brought a lovely bouquet of flowers for mom, delicious florintine cookies (a scor like cookie, dipped in chocolate!) and lots of laughter and fun.
Next to arrive was Carol MacLennan who brought a home made delicious chocolate mother's day cake and also added lots of fun to the table. Well, we all had bunches of fun, and mom was the centre of attention, and enjoyed every moment of it.
Mom also enjoyed the many cards she received from her children and grandchildren and was heard to say several times throughout the day and evening "what a wonderful day this was! ".
Although you couldn't be with us in person, we certainly felt your presence and I wanted to take the time to write a descriptive account of the wonderful day we enjoyed. Love to all
